ABOUT THE VINEYARD:

Located on the Mornington Peninsula, we are renowned for our cool climate, maritime style wines which we produce to award winning quality. Family owned, by the Pellicano family, our vineyard was previously an orchard and herb farm. With vines planted in 1994, you can now find eight Estate-grown varieties on our 54-acre property. We have a sensible, sustainable viticulture approach, producing small amounts of premium fruit using minimal, organic based products. The vines are hand pruned and harvested and have been dry-grown since 2009 with minimal input and maximum care.

ABOUT OUR WINEMAKER, MICHAEL KYBerd:

After opening a bottle of 1982 Grange, Michael’s curiosity about wine tipped , and after another year he joined the dots, so back to university he went. After graduating from Adelaide University late in 1997, Michael worked as winemaker for Red Hill Estate, Tucks Ridge, and Morning Sun Vineyard. He then started going to Spain to run a large winery during vintage, and did so for six vintages. Now a contract winemaker for a number of other small wineries on the Peninsula, including Mantons Creek Estate since 2017. Interfere is as little as possible, he starts simple and tweaks as – and when – necessary. Didier Dagueneau encapsulates what Michael loves most about winemaking perfectly, “I am in the business of manufacturing pleasure”.
